Stormwater and Green Infrastructure
Do you know about stormwater? Stormwater is rain (or snow, sleet and hail) that doesn’t get soaked into the ground. Instead it runs over the ground surface, often directly into waterways or into stormwater drains and pipes that eventually lead into waterways. Stormwater run off can carry many pollutants it comes into contact with, such as motor oil and many forms of trash, which hurts organisms living in the water of the Fall Kill Creek and other creeks, streams, rivers and lakes. Come along with the NCLI Crew and Emily Vail to learn more about stormwater and how it affects you.
