Exploring the Outdoors

One of the main goals of the Cornell Cooperative Extension Dutchess County No Child Left Inside (NCLI) program is to get youth, including the Youth Environmental Educators, outdoors connecting with the natural world. The NCLI crew has gone on many different hikes and outdoor adventures since the beginning of the program in 2007. Some of the hikes have included Sam’s Point Preserve Verkeerderkill Falls, Mount Stissing, Fahnestock State Park, the Adirondacks, and many more. They have not only gone on hikes but have had the opportunity to go on backpacking trips with the Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC) where they have helped with trail work and maintenance. Dutchess NCLI has gone to many different locations in the Hudson Valley and beyond and they always have an amazing time and encourage everyone to get outside and go on hiking.
